Summary: BLUE BLOODS is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) is the New York Chief of Police and patriarch of the Reagan brood, which he heads as diplomatically as he does the force, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry (Len Cariou), during his stint as Chief. A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), a seasoned detective, family man and Iraqi War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases. The sole Reagan woman in the family, Erin (Bridget Moynahan), is a N.Y. Assistant D.A. and newly single parent, who also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father. Jamie (Will Estes) is the youngest Reagan, fresh out of Harvard Law and the family's "golden boy." However, unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and is now a newly minted cop, a career change seemingly supported by his beautiful girlfriend, Sydney Davenport (Dylan Moore), a first year lawyer. Jamie's life takes an abrupt turn, however, when he's asked to become part of a clandestine police investigation even his father knows nothing about, and one that could impact the family's legacy. Blue Bloods, is an American police procedural/drama series on CBS, filmed on location in New York City.[1] The show premiered on September 24, 2010,[2] with episodes airing on Fridays at 10/9c. In Entertainment Weekly's annual Fall TV Preview, Ken Tucker named Blue Bloods as one of the "5 Best New Shows" of 2010.[3]
The series follows the Reagan family of police officers with the New York City Police Department. Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) is the Police Commissioner, who is widowed with three grown children: Danny, Erin, Jamie, and another son who died. Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) is a top NYPD detective but is sometimes hard-nosed and does not always go by the book. Erin (Bridget Moynahan) is an assistant district attorney who prosecutes many of the criminals Danny and Frank arrest. Jamie (Will Estes) is a recent graduate of the police academy and Harvard Law School and is a rookie officer on the police force. Henry (Len Cariou) is Frank's father and a retired police commissioner who usually provides advice to his son and grandchildren. It is belived that the other son that died was involved with the FBI investigating a group of dirty cops and his death might have something to do with it. The FBI is now having Jamie help, but Jamie is unsure if he should.
Other characters include Kelly (Andrea Roth), a reporter Frank is dating who is always trying to get the story before Frank wants the public to know about it. Danny is married to Linda (Amy Carlson) and they have two sons. Jamie is engaged to Sydney (Dylan Moore);and Erin is going through a divorce and has one daughter. Jamie's field training officer is Sergeant Anthony Renzulli (Nicholas Turturro).[4]
